Dragon Boat Festival Helmond: a weekend full of spectacle on and around the water
From Friday 5 to Sunday 7 June, Helmond will be all about the Dragon Boat Festival. The Burgemeester Geukerspark and the canal will once again be the setting for a weekend full of sporting competition, music, fun and entertainment.
The festival kicks off festively on Friday 5 June with the popular ‘t Knaal concert. Visitors can look forward to an atmospheric evening of live music, a cosy festival atmosphere and a vibrant start to the weekend.
On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June, teams will then compete against each other in the spectacular dragon boat races. Along the waterfront, cheering will be blown as the colourful boats compete across the canal for victory. Besides the races, there will be plenty of entertainment throughout the weekend, with entertainment, food trucks and music.
Free and open to all
The Dragon Boat Festival is free to enter and attracts many visitors from Helmond and the surrounding area every year. This makes the event not only a sporting highlight, but also a fun outing for young and old.
