On 25 and 26 June, the castle garden will be all about the In Motion Against Cancer event. On Saturday afternoon at 14.00, the first runners will start and on Sunday around 16.00, the last will cross the finish line. All night, then? That's right. You have to think of it as a kind of relay race.

Several teams will walk to raise money for charity. This year it is, rather, for three local charities where connection is key:

Open house the Circle
Hospice Bakel
Oncology department Elkerliek hospital

The route is the circle around the castle. Nice and straightforward and not too long, so it's fine for most people. On Sunday, the children's run starts at 10.00 am. Children then run for half an hour.

Even if you are not a walker, it is definitely worth visiting and cheering on the runners. There is a stage with entertainment in the castle garden, you can have a drink and in front of the castle there is a real children's square with a bouncy castle, cable car and various games such as shuffleboard, and tin throwing. Plenty to do!

You can also sponsor the charities by buying wish bags with a light inside. You can write a wish or personal message on these. On Saturday evening, there will be a lighting ceremony where all the wish bags will be placed along the path through the castle garden. A moment to take a moment to remember everyone affected by cancer.

You can also leave a message along the trail with a greeting card. These are for sale at one of the many stalls. All the proceeds will also go to the charities.
