There will be quite a few road closures and road works in the centre of Helmond in the coming period. The centre will therefore not be as accessible as you are used to. It is nice to know this in time, so you can take this into account. Here is an overview of the planned closures and road works.
Prince carnival announcement
During the Prince Briek L announcement, the Castle Square between Smalle Haven and Kasteellaan will be closed.

Work on traffic lights Castle Traverse & President Roosevelt Avenue
- Date: Friday 20 January 2023
- Time: 09:00 - 13:00
- Where: Kasteel Traverse between Oranjelaan and Eikendreef, Kasteel Traverse between Prins Hendriklaan and Warandelaan, President Rooseveltlaan between Goorloopweg and Hortsedijk.
One lane will be closed, you can pass the works via the adjacent lane.
Work on traffic lights Binderseind
- Date: Monday 23 January to Thursday 16 February 2023
- Closure 1: Market street between Binderseind and Brouwersteeg
- Closure 2: Heistraat between Binderseind and Gerardusplein
- Traffic disruption: Binderseind between Noordende and Zuidende
- Diversion 1: traffic to/from the Centre will be diverted via Zuidende, Kluisstraat, Noord Koninginnewal and v.v.
- Diversion 2: traffic to Heistraat will be diverted via Zuidende, Hemelrijksestraat, Beelsstraat and Blinkertsestraat
- Diversion 3: traffic from Heistraat will be diverted via Toon van de Laarstraat, Jan den Bellemanstraat, Willem Prinzenstraat, Oostende and Noordende
Temporary traffic lights will be installed, allowing traffic between Noordende and Zuidende to pass the intersection alternately. Want to go through by bike or on foot? Cross the intersection via the temporary traffic lights.
Work Enexis Elbeplantsoen
- Date: Monday, 23 January to February 2023
- Where: Elbeplantsoen between house number 59 and 81
You can pass the works, except during a short closure near house number 81. Traffic will then be diverted to/from Elbeplantsoen via a temporary passage on Meanderlaan.
