New Prince Briek LI

On a sweltering Castle Square in Helmond, Mayor Elly Blanksma unveiled on Satterday afternoon 6 January the big news: Jurgen Streppel (54) will lead the Keiebijters this year as the proud Prince Briek LI. The symbolic handover of the cape and chain marked an extraordinary moment for the city.
The new Prince Briek LI, the fifty-first in the Keiebijters' impressive history, oozes pure love for Helmond. In 1990, Jurgen Streppel began his professional journey as a footballer with Helmond Sport. After his career as a professional player, he held the role of head coach at the samethe club. He is currently at the helm as technical director, passionately looking after Helmond Sport's interests.
Prince Briek LI revealed that the motto ‘Mizunalle!!!’ fits seamlessly bij his perception of Helmond's carnival and the Carnival Procession. He concluded his speech as brand-new prince with inspiring words: “Let's mizunalle make it a wonderful carnival in Keiestad.”
Keieklets nights (the Traverse)

The KeieKletstoernooi is a renowned tournament organised by the Keiebijters since 1964. Divided over three evenings, twelve barrel proaters compete for a place in the finals. The jury decides which four kletsers will advance to the final. During the final, a jury that has not been present on any of the evenings before will decide who is that year's Supreme Chat Major. The winner goes home with the Silver Jester's Cap. Various entertainment groups also perform during the three KeieKlets evenings. The evening always ends with a cosy ball with a swinging band.

Pebblekeikesfist (The Traverse)

The Kiezelkeikesfist is a carnival-like children's afternoon filled with music, performances and entertainment. This afternoon is for and by the youth and the performers are therefore mainly children, singing, dancing or standing in the barrel as real Keiekletser. Of course, the uniforms of the Kiezelkeikes with their own Prince Briekske will also be present.

Galamatinee du Keiebijters (the Traverse)

This year too, a Gala Matinee will be organised, a festive afternoon and evening in carnivalesque spheres. At 3 p.m., the gala will be festively opened and, as always, the barrel will be filled with chatter and high-level entertainment.
Among others, the winner of the Silver Jester's Cap and other top chatters from the KeieKletstoernooi will give an appearance. There will also be great entertainment on stage with a fitting gala dinner. At the end, there will be an after-party where you can dance to great music by a band while enjoying a nice drink.

Hilmond Zingt (the Traverse)

Sing your heart out during Hilmond zingt! During this fun sing-along of the year, Rene Karst, the Van Binsbergen Trio and De Heeren Van will rock the house! From Dutch sing-alongs to Helmond Carnival classics; everything will be there during this musical spectacle!
