The summer holidays have started and that means plenty of fun for children at Helmond-Peel Library. From 15 July to 20 August, various fun activities are being organised. Find out what's on offer!
Adjusted opening hours
During the summer period, we have modified opening hours from Monday 24 July to Sunday 20 August. We are still at your service from Monday to Saturday, but now from 10am to 5pm.
Reading aloud on Wednesday afternoons
During the summer holidays, there will also be read aloud in Helmond Library on Wednesday afternoons. Every Wednesday afternoon from 14:30 to 15:00, children can enjoy exciting and enchanting stories.
Children's show ‘Party!’
Retrieved from Wednesday 26 July a great children's show ‘Party!’ will be organised in Asten Library and Helmond Library for children aged 3 and up. Help Lola and Lulu get a party ready in time!
Talking table
Retrieved from Friday 28 July is a friendly gathering at Helmond Library where you can talk to other residents about all sorts of things. Come along, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, and join in the fun!
Mad Science: High-flyers
Retrieved from Thursday 3 August in both Helmond Library and Asten Library, children aged 8 and above can learn all about aircraft and their flight principles. They build their own glider and discover the forces that make flight possible.
Sing and dance like a real musical star!
Children aged 7-10 are welcome at Monday 7 August in Someren, Asten and Helmond Library to learn to sing, dance and act like a real musical star. A great workshop given by musical teacher Anne van den Beuken.
Build an art mobile
Retrieved from Thursday, 10 August at Someren Library and Helmond Library, children aged 7 and up can build their own movable art mobile, inspired by works by artists Alexander Calder and Miro. Take your creation home with pride!
Summerschool: make your own holiday cookbook
From 31 July to 2 August at Helmond Library, children aged 8-12 can design and create their own holiday book using the design programme Canva. A book full of puzzles, recipes, reading book reviews and holiday challenges!
Mad Science: Life in the sea
Retrieved from Thursday 17 August at Someren Library and Helmond Library, children aged 6 and over can discover the fascinating underwater world. Learn about plants and animals that live underwater and measure whether a blue whale would fit in the library!
Books&Babbles: Holidays!
Retrieved from Thursday 17 August at Helmond Library, there is a special Booklets&Babbles for parents, grandparents and childcare, where you and your child aged 0-4 can enjoy fun stories and music by Music Fantastique.
Summerschool: build your own website
From 14 to 16 August Library Helmond is hosting a Summerschool for children aged 8-12 who have always wanted to build a website. Learn to design and program with HTML and CSS and become a real programmer!
