Hans van Gennep is the proud owner of bookshop De Ganzenveer. In addition, he is a purebred and proud Helmonder who is generously devoted to this city. After almost 40 years working in the book trade at various bookshops, he still has a passion for his trade and his customers. The best thing would be if that passion for his trade could merge with the passion for his city. After all, every city deserves a good bookshop, is his firm opinion! Cocoa factory
I think the Cacaofabriek is a nice combination of activity, activities and hospitality. I also really like the look of the building and the outdoor area. You can enjoy a drink in the café and them when the weather is nice you can sit on the terrace. Really enjoy!
2. LUNCHROOM
Welcome home
If you have never been here before, I highly recommend this lunchroom. The team, which consists of people with mild disabilities, is managed by a professional management. The service radiates enthusiasm and pleasure in their work, and the quality is excellent!
3. RESTAURANT
La Bocca Grande
The atmosphere and food are top notch! It's like stepping out of everyday Helmond for a moment. A real Italian experience. The adjacent grand café ‘De Vijfhoeck’, on the side of the bowling alley, is also worth a visit.
4. EVENING
Run for Hope
Hope, but also memories come alive! I think this is an incredibly good initiative and again this year the organisation did a wonderful job. It makes you realise again that we should be there for each other when needed. Together we should do it!
5. CULTURE
Literary Café
As a seasoned ‘book man’, it is a treat every time to be able to listen and watch the best the Netherlands has to offer in terms of literature. Many writers are very honoured and surprised when they perform in, by far, the biggest and most convivial café in the country. Chapeau!
