On Sunday 10 September, from 12.00-17.00, the city centre will once again be the scene of the Helmond Art Festival. Visitors can meet over 70 visual artists and buskers. The Arts Quarter and Helmond Library will also present themselves.

Artists will show what techniques they use to create their work. Think different painting techniques and special materials. Of course, shopping is also possible. Looking for original jewellery or fashion accessories? Be surprised by traditional jewellery made of glass or silver clay, hand-painted silk and woollen scarves.

Piet Blom square becomes children's domain

Piet Blom Square is set up as a domain for children. Music, games and drama take centre stage here. Children can get involved in fun and educational workshops. The youth orchestras of Koninklijke Stadsharmonie Phileutonia, Fanfare De Vooruitgang and Harmonie en Drumband Amicitia Brouwhuis will present themselves on stage.

In the Children's Music Garden they will have a wonderful musical time on music installations and with games. Kunstkwartier Helmond is present to inspire children. Making music, dancing, sculpting: they can discover it all. Enjoy a refreshing drink on the Ranja terrace. Happy faces guaranteed!

Bas van de kerkhof juggles at home in Helmond with juggling group Hebbes

Accompanied by rousing percussion, the Hebbes juggling group will introduce you to the various disciplines of juggling such as diabolo, stilt walking, balls and cones. Helmond's Bas van de kerkhof, European juggling champion, will of course be present.

Street musicians

No festival without music! Ochermerie conjures up cheerful sounds, jazz lovers can indulge themselves with Hands up for Jazz, Trio Bakeliet takes you on a musical quest for forgotten songs. On the music stage at Lokaal42, swinging performances by Ernst and Marnix and The Busquitos. The Busquitos play a catchy mix of virtuoso swinging with Louis Armstrong-rasp sung music a dazzling, upbeat performance!

Tetra-Town

Tetra-Town is a colourful street atelier made of recycled milk, custard and fruit juice packaging. Chairs, stools, lamps, cushions and even the parasol is made from empty cartons. Restvorm creates the ultimate combination of fashion, theatre and recycling in Tetra-Town. It is a complete recycling world. If you have gained enough inspiration, you will make your own hat or cap, which you can wear all year long. Fashionable, sustainable and totally eco-hip. An old-fashioned record player plays soft country music on the Tetra Terrace. Are you coming?
